$12 a Month for 12 More Years of Free Meditation

Tuition-free meditation classes sound ideal? Watch this video and join us in building a tuition-free Zen environment for all!

None Zen Center has been dedicated to building a tuition-free meditation environment, offering free meditation classes to everyone since 2013. In aligning with the core values of selfless devotion, all Zen masters and instructors at the Center serve not only as volunteers but also as primary donors. For over a decade, they have offered tuition-free classes, covered the costs of physical venues and online platforms, and managed the Center’s daily operations year after year.

We now sincerely ask for your immediate help and generous support. With your warmth and encouragement, together we can achieve what may seem impossible — to sustain a tuition-free meditation environment.

Donate now! Thank you for giving your gift via PayPal. You may select “recurrent” to send your gift monthly. We appreciate your long-term support wholeheartedly.

Donate Button with Credit Cards

When you complete your donation, you will receive a prompt receipt from PayPal. We will provide you with an annual receipt between January 10th and 30th for the gift we receive from you the previous year, due to the lack of resources. If you need to receive the donation receipts earlier, please email us at friend@nonezencenter.org.

Structured Zen Courses

Beginner’s Zen Class

Embark on your Zen journey by taking the Beginner’s Zen Class. We offer Beginner’s Zen Class monthly on Saturday mornings from 9 to 11 am. In this 2-hour course, you will be introduced to some basic Zen concepts and learn and practice three meditation methods.

Weekly Zoom Sitting Session

After the Beginner’s Class, you are warmly welcome to continue meditating with us. The weekly sitting session takes place via Zoom on most Tuesdays from 8:00 to 8:45 p.m. Pacific Time. Each 45-minute class includes a 10- to 25-minute sitting session, a short lecture, and a group sharing session. This weekly course will help you build a regular sitting habit, deepen your understanding of Zen concepts, make steady progress in your practice, and develop meaningful connections with fellow practitioners.

Monthly Retreat

The Monthly Retreat is designed to help you advance your Zen practice. We offer both half-day and daylong retreats, typically held on Saturdays—and occasionally on Sundays—from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The intensive training includes continuous 20- to 80-minute sitting sessions, interspersed with short breaks, a brief lecture, and group sharing sessions. For daylong retreats, we provide a light vegetarian lunch to help reenergize you for the afternoon practice.

Intensive Zen Retreats

We provide 5-to-10-day intensive meditation training to advance meditators’ Zen practice. Like other classes in the Center, Zen retreats are also tuition-free. However, practitioners need to pay for in-person retreat fees to cover, majorly, the bed and board. Emails us at friend@nonezencenter.org if you have any questions regarding our future Zen retreat.

None Zen Center

We are None Zen Center, a community to advance your Zen practice. At the None Zen Center, Zen meditation is not about looking for relaxation, tranquility, or stillness; it is about knowing yourself better  to uncover your true nature. By practicing Zen meditation, you are uncovering your self, revealing your true nature, just as Gautama Buddha did thousands of years ago.

The Center’s founding masters, Shifu (master or teacher) Linda Huang and Shifu Jeremy Wei, received Dharma Transmission from Zen master Guoru (Ch. 果如) and, therefore, inherited the teaching of Linji (Ch. 臨濟, Jp. Rinzai), Caodong (Ch. 曹洞, Jp. Soto), and Dharma Drum (Ch. 法鼓) lineages. We started our first meditation center in Taipei, Taiwan in 2013. In 2015, we found our San Jose Center in California, USA, and, two years later, the third meditation site in Tainan, Taiwan in December 2017. To provide our meditation service to the global community, we began the Online Zen School with on-demand video classes since 2019. And from February 2020, we started to provide Zen classes in Manchester, UK.

Our San Jose, Manchester, and Taiwan (Taipei and Tainan) Centers are three independent organizations. San Jose Center is a US-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization (EIN:47-5579819), Taiwan Center is a TW-based non-profit organization (registered no. 108年法登社字111號), and Manchester Center is a registered charitable incorporated organization (CIO) in the UK (registered charity no. 1190661). We provide Zen meditation courses for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners. All meditation classes provided in the Centers are tuition-free, and all are welcome to join us to step into the journey of uncovering self-nature.

San Jose Center (California, US)

All our in-person classes will take place at the Roosevelt Community Center located at 901 E Santa Clara St, San Jose, CA 95116  for 2024. Find San Jose Class Calendar and sign up for the tuition-free meditation classes.

Manchester Center (UK)
We will resume meditation classes for the European time zones soon.
