Daylong and Annual Retreat, Manchester
Dear friends,
Due to the current COVID situation, we have decided to cancel all Zen classes and monthly retreats in our Manchester (UK) center again, as of Tuesday, October 27th, until further notice.
We hope you may have some Zen at home, especially during this difficult time. Enroll in our Online Zen School AND the Beginner’s and Bridging Class to learn the basic Zen concepts and meditation methods. After that, take the Advanced Class to advance your Zen practice, know yourself better, and uncover your self-nature.
Be healthy and stay safe. We look forward to meeting you at our Manchester Center soon.
Sincerely Yours,
None Zen Center
Daylong Retreats are designed for students in the Training Class and Disciple Program, and aim to deepen students’ Zen experience by increasing the frequency and duration of sitting sessions. Daylong class is conducted on the third week’s Advanced Class, on Saturdays at 9am–3pm. We provide this monthly Daylong Class as a checkpoint for students to check their progress for that month.
Annual retreat is an intensive training to help people deepen their Zen experiences, break through the forms of duality, and see the true nature of self within a set time period. Each year, we provide annual 5-or-more-day Zen Retreats for students in the Advanced Class and Disciple Program.
The Daylong and Annual Retreats are designed for students in our Advanced Class and Disciple Program, but we do reserve 1–2 seats for practitioners who are interested in joining us. We will be practicing the Zen technique of doubting meditation (Chn. huatou, Jpn. wato, Krn. hwadu) in the monthly Daylong and Annul Retreats. Practitioners who are not familiar with doubting meditation will be required to take a Bridging Class in advance. If you are interested in our Bridging Class, please feel free to contact us at friend@nonezencenter.org.
We provide vegetarian meals in Daylong and Annual Retreats. Annual Retreat participants will be required to pay for the retreat fees (mainly board and lodging expenses), however, all classes provided by the None Zen Center are tuition-free. We do ask that you consider providing a donation. Your gifts make it possible for us to keep the None Zen Center operating, and for people to learn and practice Zen continuously.
You may give the gift at the Center when you attend the retreat.
* Prior registration is a must. Please contact us at friend@nonezencenter.org if you are interested in joining our Half-day retreats.
