Beginner’s Zen Class and Recommended Sessions
Embark on your Zen journey by taking the Beginner’s Zen Class, where you will be guided to go through the duality of stress and relaxation, setting the meditation goal of uncovering the ultimate solution for your life!
The 2-and-a-half-hour class format consists of three sessions, each lasting 20 to 30 minutes, with two breaks in between sessions. Sitting Session and Half-day Retreat
If you are interested in attending Sitting Session and Retreat but haven’t signed up for any classes or joined the WhatsApp group “None Zen Taiwan,” please click to fill up the Sitting Session and Retreat application form. For any inquiries or questions, feel free to reach out to us at friend@nonezencenter.org.
We learn and practice doubting meditation (Chn. huatou, Jpn. wato, Krn. hwadu) during sitting sessions and retreats, as the skill of doubting meditation is the primary method we apply at None Zen Center. If you are intrigued by this method, you may enroll in the Online Zen School and register for the Bridging Class to receive an introduction to the skill of doubting meditation.
The weekly Zoom sitting sessions aim to assist meditators in establishing regular sitting habit and progressing in their Zen practice. You will receive a Zoom link via the WhatsApp group “None Zen Taiwan” about 10 minutes before the scheduled beginning time on most Tuesdays at 8 pm. These 45-minute sessions, led by the Center’s founding masters, Shifu (i.e., Master) Linda Huang or Shifu (Master) Jeremy Wei, commence with a brief lecture, followed by a 15-to-25-minute sitting meditation practice, and conclude with a group sharing session.
The monthly half-day Zoom retreats are also led by Shifu Linda and/or Shifu Jeremy. In these 2-and-half-hour half-day retreats, Shifu (Master) Jeremy and/or Shifu (Master) Linda will give an opening lecture, lead sitting sessions, and provide group sharing and Q&A time. There will be session breaks, and each sub-sitting session will take about 20 to 60 minutes.
