Tuition by Donation
All classes at None Zen Center are tuition free. As a donation-funded non-profit organization (registration no.108年法登社字111號) with volunteer instructors, who are also primary donors, None Zen Center has been offering tuition-free meditation classes to serve the community since its founding in 2013. We earnestly seek your selfless contributions to establish and maintain this accessible and tuition-free meditation environment, allowing the manifestation of equity in Zen community.
Donations, regardless of size, are appreciated, and we recommend a NT$800 donation for each series of courses (e.g., a series of Beginner’s Class or a series of Sitting Session). However, all amounts, greater or lesser, are welcome. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. You can contribute online by clicking on the button below.
Your contributions help sustain the Center’s operations and maintain a tuition-free Zen meditation environment for everyone eager to learn and consistently practice Zen meditation.

Sitting Session and Half-day Retreat
If you are interested in attending Sitting Session and Retreat but haven’t signed up for any classes or joined the WhatsApp group “None Zen San Jose,” please click to fill up the Sitting Session and Retreat application form. For any inquiries or questions, feel free to reach out to us at friend@nonezencenter.org.
We learn and practice doubting meditation (Chn. huatou, Jpn. wato, Krn. hwadu) during sitting sessions and retreats, as the skill of doubting meditation is the primary method we apply at None Zen Center. If you are intrigued by this method, you may enroll in the Online Zen School and register for the Bridging Class to receive an introduction to the skill of doubting meditation.
The weekly Zoom sitting sessions aim to assist meditators in establishing regular sitting habit and progressing in their Zen practice. You will receive a Zoom link via the WhatsApp group “None Zen San Jose” about 10 minutes before the scheduled beginning time on most Tuesdays at 8 pm. These 45-minute sessions, led by the Center’s founding masters, Shifu (i.e., Master) Linda Huang or Shifu (Master) Jeremy Wei, commence with a brief lecture, followed by a 15-to-25-minute sitting meditation practice, and conclude with a group sharing session.
The monthly in-person half-day retreats are also led by Shifu Linda and/or Shifu Jeremy. In these 2-and-half-hour half-day retreats, Shifu (Master) Jeremy and/or Shifu (Master) Linda will give an opening lecture, lead sitting sessions, and provide group sharing and Q&A time. There will be session breaks, and each sub-sitting session will take about 20 to 60 minutes. We host in-person half-day retreats in the Tainan Center, located at 199 Youai Street, Floor 4, Zhongxi District, Tainan, Taiwan (Google Maps).
