Bridging Class, Tainan
The Bridging Class is designed for students who have completed the Beginner’s Class in the Center, or have learned meditation before but want to learn a new meditation skill. The aims are to help students get familiar with the method of Doubting Meditation or huatou (Chn. huatou, Jpn. wato, Krn. hwadu), enhance the right view about Zen and Zen meditation, and build up a regular sitting habit.
The 3-week Bridging Class consists of 3 lecture video classes to introduce the history and skill of doubting meditation and 3 sitting meditation sessions to enhance the practice of doubting meditation. You may sign up for the Online Zen School and enroll in Bridging Class for the lecture classes.
The 3-session sitting meditation sessions are held on Saturdays at 10 am – 10:45 am. After a 15-to-30 minute sitting session, Shifu (Teacher or Master) Linda or Shifu Jeremy will lead the group sharing and accept questions. Most of the sitting sessions are outdoor meditation classes, as long as the weather or condition allows.
In addition to the real-time Zoom sitting sessions held in the Tainan Center, Shifu Linda and Shifu Jeremy lead in-person and real-time Zoom sitting sessions for practitioners in two other time zones, San Jose, California (Pacific Time) and UK (GMT) . You may find the sitting session calendar below and sign up for the Advanced Class of your desired time zone(s) to receive the class updates, reminders, and Zoom links.
