ADVANCED CLASS IS GOING HYBRID! ( SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA)

Advanced Class is the ongoing series for students to continuously practice Doubting Meditation or huatou (Chn. huatou, Jpn. wato, Krn. hwadu) to advance their Zen practice. Besides watching the weekly Advanced Class video series on the Online Zen School, students attend the weekly Sitting Sessions, Monthly Retreats, and annual 5-to-10-day retreats. Students are also supposed to participate the Center’s events and even daily operation to apply their Zen practice in the day-to-day life. After learning and practicing Zen meditation in the Center for six months, students may apply for discipleship and join the Disciple Training Program including the Instructor Certification Training. The in-person sitting sessions will take place in the San Jose Center at the Willow Glen Community Center at 2175 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95125 on Saturdays indicated below from 9.15am-11.15am. The monthly half-day and daylong retreats serve as a checking point to evaluate meditators’ practice of that month. Shifu (Teacher or Master) Linda or Shifu Jeremy will lead the guided meditation and group sharing and accept questions or give lectures at the end of each session and retreat.

Besides San Jose Center’s classes, Shifu Linda and Shifu Jeremy lead real-time Zoom sitting sessions for practitioners in two other time zones, UK (UTC+0 or UTC+1 for daylight saving time) and Taiwan (UTC+8). You may find the sitting session calendar and sign up for the classes of your desired time zone(s) to receive the class updates, reminders, and Zoom links.

Tuition Free
We provide tuition-free meditation classes, but we do ask that you consider providing a donation. The None Zen Center is run entirely by donations. It is the loving gifts from our teachers, students, and friends which create a tuition-free learning environment for Zen meditation, and so will your generosity surely pass on the same love to others.

We recommend a US$80 donation for the sitting session course, but donations of greater and lesser sums are all appreciated. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

You may donate online or give the gift at the Center.

When you complete your donation, you will receive a prompt receipt from PayPal. We will provide you with an annual receipt between January 10 to February 20 for the gifts we receive from you the previous year due to the lack of resources. If you need to receive the receipts earlier, please email us at friend@nonezencenter.org.
